About Gram & Pap Travel
We’re Lorrie and Jack — better known around here as Gram & Pap.
We’re a 50+ couple who fell in love with European travel years ago and, more recently,
discovered the joy of RV life right here at home. Today, we spend most weekends exploring
campgrounds, small towns, state parks, and scenic routes… and when the stars align, we
head across the Atlantic for a big adventure.
Over the years we realized something important: travel doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive,
or reserved for people with unlimited time. You can build a meaningful travel life in your 50s and
beyond — one weekend, one campground, one road trip, one memory at a time.
Our Journey
Like a lot of couples our age, we spent decades working full-time, raising a family, and fitting
travel into the cracks of life. Somewhere along the way, Europe became a tradition for us —
walking old streets, riding trains between cities, and learning how to explore without rushing.
Then we bought our RV, and everything changed again. Suddenly, adventure wasn’t a big two-week
trip once a year — it was every weekend. We could hitch up on Friday evening, drive a couple hours,
and wake up somewhere new. No airport. No schedule. Just the two of us, a little camper, and the
freedom to wander.
Gram & Pap Travel grew naturally out of that shift — a way to document our weekends, share what we learned,
and help other beginners (especially 50+ travelers) start living the travel life they’ve been dreaming about.
